West Boggs Park Policies
Welcome to West Boggs Park! This guide provides important information to help you enjoy your visit safely and responsibly. Inside, you’ll find details about park rules, camping and reservation policies, boating and fishing regulations, golf cart usage, swimming guidelines, and more. Whether you’re here for a day or an extended stay, please take a moment to review these guidelines to ensure a fun and respectful experience for everyone.
General Rules & Guidelines
– All vehicles must have a window tag displayed in the front windshield to verify payment of entrance.
– Vehicles should be parked on gravel or in designated parking areas only.
– Vehicles should not be parked in any location that hinders accessibility to any portion of the facility.
This includes, but is not limited to:
– Sidewalks
– Restrooms
– Fishing Pier
– Courtesy Docks
– Shelters
– Camping Sections
– In front of Service Gates at the Office or Restaurant
– Vehicles left unattended in restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.
– Pets must remain on a leash or tether at all times.
– Pets may not be left unattended in any location or vehicle.
– Pets are not allowed at the beach.
– Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
– Children under 13 are not permitted to be at the facility without adult supervision.
– Shelters are available for use without a reservation, but if reserved, the reserving party has full rights to the shelter and others must vacate.
Rates & Reservations
Charges
– Reservations will include a $4 Lake Enhancement Fund fee per site.
– Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. (3% convenience fees are added when paying with card)
– Weekly rates apply only to consecutive days on the same site.
– One picnic table is allowed per campsite.
– Use of available extra tables is $10 per table.
– Do NOT remove tables from neighboring sites. Doing so will result in additional camping charges.
– Any site that requires immediate maintenance upon departure may result in additional camping fees or termination of park privileges.
This includes: – Trash left behind
– Removed fire rings or picnic tables
– Debris or personal property left at the site
Reservation Restrictions
– Each separate set of dates requires its own reservation. – Select holiday/event weekends require a 2-night or 3-night minimum.
– A maximum of 3 sites may be reserved per person per day.
– Reservations are limited to a two-week stay.
– After two weeks, campers must leave the park for at least 48 hours before returning.
– Transferring to a different site is allowed (once, only within the same season and must be done 10 days before original arrival date).
– An additional fee may apply if the new site has a higher rate. – Reselling sites is prohibited.
Cancellation Policy
– Cancel at least 10 days prior to arrival for a full refund (minus $3.50 fee + convenience fees).
– Cancellations made less than 10 days before arrival are not refundable or transferable.
– No-shows forfeit all payments and may not transfer dates.
– Reselling sites is prohibited and will result in a ban from the park.
– If a reservation is transferred to a different date, it becomes ineligible for any refund—even if cancelled 10 days or more before arrival.
– Only one transfer is allowed per reservation anything requested after will be denied. (transfers can only be within the same season as the original reservation)
– If you do not arrive on your scheduled date, your site will be held until 12:00 NOON the following day. If you do not arrive or contact the park by that time, the site will be reopened, and all fees will be forfeited.
Camping
Campsite & Lodging Restrictions
– Each campsite may include either:
– One RV and one tent, or
– Two tents
– Two vehicle passes are issued per campsite.
– Additional vehicles must pay standard park entry fees.
– All vehicles must display a tag in the front window while in the park.
– Tags are not transferable between vehicles.
– Camping and cabin rentals are restricted to individuals 18 years or older.
– Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during overnight stays.
– Campsites and lodging rentals must be renewed or vacated by 2:00 PM.
– Renewals are subject to availability.
– Late checkouts will result in additional camping fees.
– Cabins and camping trailers:
– Check-in time is 2:00 PM or later.
– Must be vacated by 12:00 NOON on departure day.
– Late checkouts will result in additional camping fees.
– Failure to arrive on the scheduled date will result in the site being held until Noon the following day.
– If there is no arrival or contact, the site will reopen and all funds will be forfeited.
Campground Rules
– Quiet hours: 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM
– Every vehicle must have a tag in the front window verifying entry payment.
– Vehicles without tags must purchase a daily entrance permit or vacate the property.
– Fires must be in the provided fire-ring only.
– Do not move fire-rings.
– Do not leave fires unattended.
– Do not throw trash into fire-rings.
– Firewood requirements:
– Must be kiln dried, seasoned for one year, or have all bark removed.
– No pallet wood or wood with nails, screws, or other metal hardware is allowed.
– Do not remove picnic tables from campsites.
– Pets must be kept on a leash or tether at all times.
– Trash must be disposed of in dumpsters located throughout the park.
– Do not litter or dump trash in wooded areas.
– One camper and one tent OR two tents allowed per campsite.
– Two vehicles allowed per campsite.
– Extra vehicles may use designated overflow parking lots.
– Do not put any metal into trees.
– This includes screws, nails, stakes, staples, etc.
– Do not run gray water onto the ground.
– Use designated dump stations.
– Violators may be permanently banned from the park.
– Respect other campers.
– Do not take shortcuts through campsites not occupied by your party.
– Cutting firewood with axes, hatchets, or chainsaws is not allowed without written permission from park management.
– Obey all posted speed limits.
– All vehicles (except golf carts) must stay on gravel or paved roads.
– Walking, bicycles, and golf carts may use gravel trails.
– Other motorized vehicles are not allowed on trails.
– Shelters may be used if unreserved.
– If reserved, the reserving party has full rights to the shelter.
– Do not leave boat trailers unattended at the beach or boat ramp parking area.
– Please do not feed wildlife.
– Inebriated individuals will not be allowed to participate in any park activities, programs, or events.
Enforcement
– Park Rangers have full authority to:
– Remove individuals from the property
– Impose temporary or permanent bans
– Impound golf carts for rule violations
– Issue tickets for speeding or unauthorized parking
– Remove individuals for foul language, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, or other disruptive behavior
Golf Carts
Usage Rules
– ONLY golf carts are permitted.
– ATVs, ORVs, lawn mowers (except for mowing), and other recreational vehicles are not allowed.
– Golf carts must be legally designated golf carts.
– Carts with positive traction systems are not permitted.
– Carts may only be operated by persons 16 years or older with a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
– Drivers must be able to legally accept financial responsibility for any accidents or damages caused.
– Operating a golf cart with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher is illegal under Indiana law.
– Permitted hours of operation: 6:00 AM – Midnight
– Carts operated between sunset and sunrise must have:
– At least one working white headlamp in front
– Two working red tail lamps in the rear
– Obey all posted speed limits.
– Maximum of 10 MPH on designated trails.
– Do not exceed the seat capacity of the golf cart.
– Follow all posted signage, including restrictions or prohibitions on golf cart access.
– Reckless driving, damaging park resources, or endangering others is strictly prohibited.
– Golf carts must be maintained to minimize:
– Excessive noise
– Smoke
– Loud music (please keep volumes low to respect other guests)
– Violations of these rules may result in immediate removal from park property and indefinite denial of entry.

Fees During Reservation
– Golf cart permits are required for all guests bringing a cart to the park during their stay.
– Permit options:
– Weekly Permit: $15
– Annual Permit: $50 (paperwork required)
– Carts must display either:
– A valid season permit sticker, or
– Riders must carry a valid receipt showing payment
– Using a golf cart at West Boggs Park is a privilege, not a right.
– These rules are in place to ensure the safety of all visitors and to protect the park’s natural landscape.
– Holiday Weekend Reservations:
– A 3-day minimum stay is required for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends.
– This rule does not apply to Easter or Halloween.
– West Boggs Park accepts reservations at any time for the current and next camping season.
– Confirmed reservations are not subject to future rate changes.
Boating
Fees During Reservation
– Campers bringing a boat must purchase a boating pass valid for the entire duration of their reservation.
– Campers pay a one-time $10 boat launch fee for the length of their stay.
– All motorized boats, including those with trolling motors, must have one of the following:
– A West Boggs Park (WBP) seasonal boat pass, or
– A $10 daily launch fee
– Lake residents must have a WBP boat pass sticker on their boat.
– Note: Boat pass is not included with a dock permit.
– Boats that have been sold must retain the old sticker in order to receive a new pass.
– Holiday Weekend Reservations:
– A 3-day minimum stay is required for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends.
– This rule does not apply to Easter or Halloween weekends.
– Reservations are accepted year-round for both the current and next camping season.
– Confirmed reservations will not be subject to future rate increases.
Rules & Regulations
– Unattended boats or trailers are not permitted at the boat ramp or beach parking area unless approved by management.
– Unauthorized boats or trailers may be towed at the owner’s expense.
– Boats with sewer holding tanks are not allowed on the lake.
– Recreational boaters (non-fishermen) are not allowed on the lake until NOON.
– Boats must travel in a counter-clockwise direction around the lake.
– Always stay to the right.
– Speed limit on the lake is 35 MPH.
– All Indiana State Fishing and Boating regulations apply.
Additional Notes
– Amphibious vehicles (such as Argos) are allowed on the lake only.
– These vehicles must be brought in on a trailer and launched from the boat ramp.
– They are not permitted to be driven on park roads.
Fishing
– A valid Indiana State Fishing License is required to fish at West Boggs Park.
– All anglers must follow Indiana State Fishing Regulations.
– Fishing is NOT allowed in the following areas:
– The boating courtesy docks at the boat ramp (reserved for boater access only)
– The boat rental slip area (reserved for persons with boats in those slips)
– Boat ramps
– The beach area inside the yellow boundary or off the diving platform
– Other people’s campsites
Swimming
– Swimming is at your own risk.
– No lifeguards are on duty.
– No swimming after dark.
– Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
– Golf carts are not allowed on the beach.
– Liferings are for emergency use only.
– Removing liferings for any non-emergency reason may be treated as a criminal act.
– Anyone found tampering with emergency equipment may be asked to leave the property.
– Shower houses are for campers only, with the exception of the beach house which may be used by beach visitors.
– Always be aware of the dangers of open water swimming and use caution.
